Science Gr 6,7,8 Week of 1/3/17

The 6th grade will be investigating why the Moon changes its shape nightly and how its motions enable us to predict where and when it will be visible. Then we will discuss nature’s awesome spectacle – a total solar eclipse! Be prepared for the next one on August 21st!
The 7th grade is finishing up their 4 month long unit on Chemistry with our last two topics – explosive reactions (don’t worry – nothing too violent) and the discovery of plastics.
The 8th grade is beginning their study and research into the brain and experimenting with measuring reaction time and how we learn. We will also investigate dreams, subliminal messages, and ESP.
All in all, a very busy and fascinating week of science!
