7th Grade Humanities American Revolution Skits

To further our understanding of the causes of the American Revolution, this week we created skits to demonstrate our understanding of important events, acts, and documents that led up to the colonies’ eventual decision to separate from their mother country, Great Britain.
Each group researched one of the following causes, then created a skit to share what they learned with the class.
10 Causes of the American Revolution:
- The French and Indian War
- Proclamation of 1763
- Stamp Act and Sugar Act
- Quartering Act
- Boston Massacre
- Tea Act
- Boston Tea Party
- Lexington and Concord
- Thomas Paine’s Common Sense
- Declaration of Independence
Highlights included a rap of Thomas Paine’s Common Sense from 701, elaborate costumes from 702, and a puppet show from 703.
