Artist Residency for 7th and 8th graders

Hello everyone,

Next week, thanks to generous funds provided by the BSI PTO, Artist in Residence Kevin Reese will be at school leading a project with 7th and 8th graders.

The 8th grade students have executed sketches to design and make public art for the school as a lasting legacy.  Some of you may remember the work that Kevin and Nanna did with your daughter/son in the 3rd grade — these mobiles adorn the hallway on the fourth floor and hang from the auditorium ceiling on the first floor.  You may want to check in and give feedback on the sketch your student is working on: this is such an honor and a gift to work on this legacy, and your encouragement may help the students realize this.

The 7th graders will create “maquettes,”  or mini-mobiles, of their own design.

We look forward to sharing this work with you and thank the BSI community for making this program possible.

yours,

Donna
