Realistic Fiction Portrait Homework

Good Afternoon Families,

Today your students will be coming home with a special piece of cardstock paper. They have a homework assignment in which they will be drawing a portrait of the main character from their realistic fiction story. I have encouraged the students to be as creative as they want when decorating their character. We have discussed in depth the difference between internal vs external traits and what can be seen in a portrait. Today we practiced describing our characters and closing our eyes to visualize them. Please have your child try it out with you! The portraits are due back in school on Monday. I am looking forward to seeing what our amazing kids can create.
