Grade 1, Class 101, Dance & Social Studies

Dear 101 Families,

I confirmed with Ms.Diane: 101 is in BLUE on Friday! I reminded the students and they are set. Sorry for any confusion last night.

Please join us Friday morning! We will be in our classroom from 9-10, the dance performance is from 10-10:30 and then from 10:30-11, you are welcome to come back to our classroom for snack and a read-aloud.

Social Studies:

Lizzie from the BEAM Center joined us today! Students were excited to practice their urban planning skills and use the information and details that they collected from their recent neighborhood walks in their own neighborhood designs.

Some of the skills/conversations that came out of today’s session, which we will be diving into this week are:

• Wants vs. Needs
• Spatial Awareness (using and applying scale)
• Design/Architectural language (blueprints, scale, models, design)
• 2D vs. 3D
• Collaboration Skills
