This week is School-wide Spirit Week: (Please remind your child that it is spirit week. Tomorrow, in class, we will have a conversation about what spirit week is, the purpose of it etc. This is your child’s chance to be as creative and expressive as they wish 🙂

Tuesday, June 13, 2017 – Athletic Day
Students wear their favorite team apparel or athletic gear.
Wednesday, June 14, 2017 – Mismatch Day
Students wear Mismatch clothing.
Thursday, June 15, 2017 Character Day
Students may dress up as their favorite Character.
Friday, June 16, 2017 – Twinning Day
Students pick a friend or two to Twin with. Dress like your friend!

(Below, is a note only for the birthday students families. If we are celebrating your child’s summer birthday, please read below. Class parents will connect you all to coordinate amongst yourselves)
We will celebrate the July/August birthdays on Tuesday, June 20th 2pm
There are 31 students in our class, and severe peanut allergies (tree nuts). Please talk amongst yourselves to decide what you would like to bring/send in.
Some ideas are: napkins, small plates, individual small water bottles or individual juice boxes, small cupcakes or cookies, fruit salad/fruit (maybe the kids can make fruit kabobs? an interactive healthy idea?) or anything you think would be liked and appreciated by 31 first graders (ice cream or ice pops are very much welcome, too!). I trust your judgement and we thank you in advance. We do also have a school-wide no candy policy.
NO CANDY, NO WHOLE CAKES, NO glass items, NO JUGS please. Thank you!
1st grade End of Year Class Party: Fri, June 23rd 1:30 – dismissal (You will have a chance to see the culmination of the 3D Community Model BEAM Project as well as students final writing pieces! Please come and bring your energy, fun spirit and a snack for students! I promise you will have fun!
1st grade End of Year Class Picnic: Tues, June 27th 1:30 – 2:30 pm @ Seth Low Park. Bring your blankets, water bottles etc. All first grade students will be provided with ice cream/ice pops (thank you, courtesy of Lily Ruan – Chloe’s mom). Come one, come all! Hope to see you there!
