Spirit Day: Pajama Friday

Friday, November 17th, is Pajama Day here at BSI. Our spirit days are an opportunity for us to come together as a learning community to have fun and build school spirit. Students and staff will be participating in the fun. Don’t forget to send your child in or with PJs.

Blog Emails and Communication

We have updated all of the email addresses of everyone that has submitted the request. If you find yourself not receiving class emails or blog updates please put your name and email down in this form.

Water Bottles

Please make sure NOT to send students in with glass bottles. They present a safety hazard. We have had a number of incidents with glass bottles breaking. We appreciate your attention to this matter.

Indoor Recess

We are well prepared for indoor recess. If anyone would like to donate any spare board games, chalk, building sets or any other recess related items feel free to drop off in the lobby where there will be a BSI cart for dropoff.

B&N Bookfair

Our annual Barnes & Noble Bookfair is Sunday, November 19th from 9am-7pm at the Park Slope Barnes & Noble, 267 7th Avenue, Brooklyn.

School Lunch

The “checkout” system will be adjusted starting on Friday and we will transition students from entering their 4 digit code during lunch checkout to simply scanning their lunch card. This will drastically speed up the process.
Just a reminder that lunch is now at no charge to ALL students. The New York City Department of Education (DOE) is pleased to announce that starting this school year, lunch is now completely free for all students in every New York City public school. Breakfast is already provided for free and now all meals will be served at no charge to families.

All parents, regardless of income, must still complete a School Meals Form. Please complete the form online at http://nyc.applyforlunch.com by December 29, 2017.
