Grade 5 Math: First Olympiad Complete!
Hello All,
I just wanted to check in to let you know that our first Olympiad Contest in 5th grade was a success! Most students were excited, rather than overly anxious. That’s the biggest indicator of success in my opinion!
Students were focused and used their time wisely. Some couldn’t finish, but that’s okay. It’s better to spend more time on questions you know than rush through and not get any questions correct.
As I was walking around, I also noticed that every student got at least one question correct. I know many were concerned about getting zeroes (which would be totally okay), but no one did.
As soon as I have entered the scores to Olympiad and the papers are photocopied, I will return the copies to the students. The next contest will be in December.
