Art Room Update, week of 11/27/17

Kindergarteners finished their warm or cool tissue leaf collages and are working on drawing Loop Fish with lots of patterns. First grade finished their Magical trees in the style of Gustav Klimpt, and are now busy collaging beautiful big owls. The Second graders are making or painting papier maché puppet heads this week. Third grade is beginning a story weaving unit, and will create their color index’s today. Fourth grade is still working on the Pop Art soup cans, while Fifth grade has begun to make their action figure sculptures. Sixth grade are in the midst of creating wire self portraits in the style of Alexander Calder. Seventh grade finished their imaginary symmetrical insects and have moved onto sneaker design. Eighth grade finished their Chuck Close grid method portraits which look great and are beginning to design Skateboard decks in the style of Takashi Murakami. The halls are bright and beautiful with student work.
