Fun Family Friday!

On Friday, we were delighted to have so many parents join us for Family Friday! Your help was so appreciated! Families joined us in making Salt clay for our Continent Relief Maps. Parents helped the class pour, measure, mix and knead…and get a little doughy! Before…

After the dough was ready, students were able to let their continents take shape. They used their Physical Map as a resource to shape the natural land forms of their continent.

This week, we will continue the next stages of our project- painting the land forms, designing a legend/key, and drawing a compass rose. We will also continue our continent research, collecting information not only about it’s geography, but it’s culture, language, countries, landmarks, animals and other interesting facts. Students will make a 6-panel “brochure” as the culmination of their research.

Upcoming Dates:

Tuesday: World Map Assessment- Children may re-take the assessment on Tuesday, December 5th. Students will be assessed using the same criteria- identification of all 7 continents, 5 oceans, the Mediterranean Sea, the Equator, and the North and South Poles.
