3rd Grade Science, Volume vs. Capacity 12/4/17
In this experiment, the 3rd graders discovered that volume and capacity are not one in the same. I explained to the class how upset that I was when I opened my can of seltzer to find it was not full! However, the students discovered that when companies print “355 mL” on the can, that is the VOLUME, or amount of liquid in the can, not its capacity, or the amount of liquid it would take to fill up the can.
