Dance Room Update – K through 5th – Dec.7th

There is always some sort of creative energy happening in the dance room. This week, fourth and fifth graders are putting the finishing touches on their “32 count”  choreographic contribution to the song “Hopeful”. A classroom showing is in the very near future.

Third graders continue to explore the syllables in their names. Now they are in the process of working with a partner to make a short dance using creative shapes to represent the syllables and include a beginning, middle and end.

In the second grade, dancers are finishing up there underwater sea creature exploration. Next week the dancers will be working in groups of four to present an “underwater quartet” and the first graders are busy completing their studies of “pathways in space”. Below are pictures of them exploring “shadow” work in duets. They are also working on demonstrating movement sentences and maps using pathways.

I missed the kindergarteners this week as they were on a class trip!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Diane
