K-001 The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Our First Field Trip

K-001 Presents The Three Billy Goats Gruff!

We had our first kindergarten play!  We acted out the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff.  We had a bridge. We had trolls. We had baby billy goats and middle sized billy goats and yes, we even had BIG billy goats!  We rehearsed all week and the kids made their own costumes, horns for the goats and crazy paper hair for the trolls.  Our actors were awesome!!  Class K-002 and Mr. Havlik came to watch our performance.  Ms. Audrey even stopped by just in time!  We also really enjoyed watching K-002’s performance of Caps for Sale!  Ask your child about what it was like to be in a play and be part of the audience. Here are some pictures from our show:

Our first Kindergarten trip to the Staten Island Children’s Museum was a great success.  The children were very excited to ride the school bus over the Verrazano Bridge! At the museum, we participated in an art immersion workshop where students learned about the collage technique used in the illustrations of Eric Carle. Using the Eric Carle story, The Grouchy Ladybug, as inspiration, they created a collage by painting a watercolor wash and cutting and pasting a ladybug.
