Happy Holidays!

Dear Families,

It was so nice to see many of you at our winter celebration yesterday.  We hope you enjoyed working with your child to create a holiday craft and all the yummy treats. A huge thank you to class parents for organizing an awesome celebration and to everyone who contributed in any way!

We hope everyone has a safe and happy winter break.   Below are a few activities for you to do with your child.  These activities reinforce skills and ideas your child is learning in school.

Here is a math game where students practice comparing and adding numbers.

Compare or Double Compare

Here is link to many different activities to help your child practice reading and writing CVC words (consonant, vowel, consonant.)  You do not have to do all these activities at one time but save it as a resource to return to again and again as you work with your child throughout the year.

Appreciating Ms. Jenny

You may have noticed Ms. Jenny yesterday moving furniture and preparing the table (moving bookshelves!) for our holiday buffet.  She does so much for our kindergarteners! While I’m teaching she is preparing EVERYTHING I need to teach, not to mention playing games with the kids at Choice Time and making sure they use the bathroom and have snack.  She shared a December birthday with Darwin this week and brought in delicious homemade treats for the children.  She is always thinking of them, always smiling and always busy doing something to make things in K001 run more efficiently.  The kids and I both adore her and frankly, I don’t know where I’d be without her.

I am looking forward to seeing you all in the new year.

Warmly,

Ms. Griner
