Science – Grades 6-8, Week of 1/2/18

Welcome back, all.

The 6th grade is picking up just where they left off – in the solar system. This week they will be working on research projects and creating a “Travel Guide of the Future”, highlighting a destination of their choice in the solar system.

The 7th grade is beginning their study of Physics that will last for the next few months. We are starting off by examining how energy is transferred when a ball bounces, which will lead to a better understanding of the principle of “conservation of energy”. Following this we will discuss potential & kinetic energy.

The 8th grade is also picking up where they left off. We are now studying our 9th system of the body- the Nervous System. Lab experiments will help us understand how fast the brain transmits messages and how it can also be tricked.
