Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We celebrated MLK Day by learning about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and what he believed.  We discussed the importance of words and how his words are still with us today. We talked about the unfair laws in our country and what Dr. King did to help change them.  We talked about how different we all are and how happy we are that we are all learning together! We read a biography of Dr. Martin Luther King’s  life.  We sang “We Shall Overcome”  and made up our own verses.  Some were “We’ll all be together,  With our Moms and Dads, We shall all be friends.”   Then we walked through the halls of our school here at BSI, sharing our message of equality, fairness and peace.  One class invited us in and we all sang together.
