Science: Grades 6-8, Week of 2/12/18

Continuing with our Astronomy curriculum, the 6th graders are focusing on the problems that had to be solved before sending people into space. We will discuss the “space race” between the USSR & the US and what programs led up to the moon landing in 1969.

The 7th grade is continuing their inquiry into Physics when we demonstrate how electricity is generated and the differences between AC and DC electric current. We will discuss the problems of powering electric generators and what new sources of energy are being used.

The 8th grade, having finished our unit on Human Reproduction,  will now focus on the dual processes of Mitosis & Meiosis, as we go into detail about how cells in our bodies reproduce.
