All About Animal Books!
It was wonderful seeing so many of you this morning at Family Friday! The All-About book covers look amazing! Students were very proud of the work they did and can’t wait to add these covers to their books.
All-About books are informational texts all about one topic. Our first books are focused on an animal that we know all about. We began by reading some all about books and noticed things that those authors did in their writing. We used those non-fiction books to research our animals. Then we planned out our ideas using a web. We thought about what our animals look like, what they eat, where they live, and what they do. Then we started using our plan to write the pages of our books. We will continue to add more non-fiction features to our books, including a diagram and maybe even a Table of Contents!
