First of all, Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you all felt appreciated and loved! The children made beautiful cards, and wrote the most fascinating and hilarious information about their moms!
Thank you so much to Ms. Vanessa and 302, who presented me with a very special surprise during snack on Friday! It was a group collaboration, which now hangs in our classroom. The best part was when Ben said “Well, you are like a mom to 30 kids!”

Art Residency- Capoeira
This week, the third grade classes are beginning a music and dance residency. Each Tuesday, we will be joined by Capoeira instructors. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that fuses dance, music, self-defense and acrobatics. It is energetic and joyful and exposes children to a new language, music, movement and culture. This group has a creative approach to instruction and encourages discipline, focus, and respect. The program will immerse students in Brazilian music, language, and culture. We are looking forward to a six week session with our instructors!
