Happy Summer!!
Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe we have come to the end of kindergarten. It has been a wonderful year of learning, playing and exploring together as a community. We appreciate the continuous support you have given us this year. As you prepare for your adventures over the summer, please keep in mind the following to prepare your children for their transition to first grade.
- Read as much as possible in a variety of ways! Your children can read to themselves, they can read to someone else or they can be read to.
- Write about your adventures! Keeping a summer journal is a great way to capture memories that your child can go back and relive.
- Incorporate opportunities to think about math in real world situations. For example, at the grocery store, setting the table for dinner, or coming up with real life story problems. Encourage your children to explain their thinking.
- And always encourage your children to question and wonder about the world around them!
Wishing you all a wonderful summer break!
Best,
Ms. Rita and Ms. Griner
