Writing like Scientists!

On a perfect fall day this week, our curious Kindergartners went out on a nature walk to collect tree artifacts! They found leaves, bark, pinecones, and sticks.  We have been studying and observing our artifacts this week to further our knowledge about trees. We are using these tree artifacts to write like a scientist. We do this by only drawing what we see, adding lots of details to our pictures and labeling all the parts. Next week, we will continue to observe pieces of nature and record what we see. Later in the unit, we will create informational booklets to to teach others about our tree artifacts.
