401 Blog: Week of 12/3/18

Hello!
We have a very busy week coming up.
- Monday is our trip to High Rock Park in Staten Island. We will be leaving the school between 9:30 and 9:45. If you volunteered to chaperone please be at the the school lobby by 9:30. Students will eat snack at the park and we should be back at school in time for lunch (depending on traffic). The weather is supposed to mid 40’s and sunny, however we will be outside for 2-3 hours so please make sure your kids dress accordingly.
- Friday is Family Friday and we have an awesome activity for you to be a part of. We will be recreating a Iroquois Great Council Meeting in order to debate the issue of weather or not we should have homework. Our class has been studying the Native American Nations of New York State as part of our current social studies unit. This week we will be discussing how the Iroquois set a model for our current system of government.
- In writing we will continue to work on our Realistic Fiction and learn about about ways to revise it and make it stronger.
- In math we will be starting our unit on division!!!! Students tend to love learning about division once we get started so it should be exciting.
Thanks,
John
