Fun with Community Building!

Dear Families,

We have had a lot of fun getting to know each other.  Did you know our families are originally from all over the world.  Romania, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Russia, England, Brazil, New Zealand, and Ukraine-this is just naming a few countries.   It’s really amazing!

We have been working hard establishing expectations for quiet work independent work time as well as playing team building games.

I’ve given a spelling assessment to create differentiated word study groups. This week we learned how words are taken apart by their roots, prefixes and suffixes.

In writing, we learned how to add more description in our writing by using the five senses and in reading we are learning that you need to pay attention to the thoughts, inferences, conclusions that pop into your head as you read.

This morning we organized our book bags. Our humanities notebook, binder, pencil case with pencils and sharpener stay in our bookbag. We cleaned out the rest of the supplies and I passed them off to the correct teacher.

We finished writing class rules together and agreed on following them. I have been taking notes on their behavior and will communicate this feedback on School Loop, soon.

Best,

Mrs. Stewart
