Holiday Wishes and Our First Play!

Dear Families,

It was so wonderful to see many of you at our winter celebration yesterday. Everyone enjoyed the fun crafts we participated in and all the yummy treats. A huge thank you to class parents for organizing an awesome celebration and to everyone who contributed in any way!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy winter break.   Below are a few activities for you to do with your child.  These activities reinforce skills and ideas your child is learning in school.

Here is a math game where students practice comparing and adding numbers.

Compare or Double Compare

Here is link to many different activities to help your child practice reading and writing CVC words (consonant, vowel, consonant.)  You do not have to do all these activities at one time but save it as a resource to return to again and again as you work with your child throughout the year.

I am looking forward to seeing you all in the new year.

All the best,

Ms. Rita

K-002 Presents Caps for Sale!

We had our first kindergarten play! We had a great time acting out the story of the peddler, some monkeys and their monkey business! We talked about what we would need to put on a show.  We discussed characters, props and setting. We spent time making some costumes and practicing our parts. Our actors were awesome! Mr. Havlik and Class K-001 came to watch our performance.  We also really enjoyed watching their performance of The Three Billy Goats Gruff! Ask your child about what it was like to be in a play and be part of the audience. Here are some pictures from our show:
