Testing, Joy and the Gala
Congratulations to the students in Grades 3-7 who finished mathematics testing this week! Testing days were smooth, and I am confident that our students put forth their personal best. After testing was complete, we all enjoyed spending time at Seth Low unwinding with creative play, breathing fresh air and enjoying what was a beautiful afternoon.
On another note, there is an evening coming up that I get to spend with you – the parents – and the some of our staff, at our school’s 10th Anniversary Gala on May 11th.
BSI was just an idea not too long ago, and that vision has blossomed into one of the city’s most coveted schools. I’m honored every day to be leading this school following founding Principal Donna Taylor, who will be joining us, as well, at the Gala celebration.
Please plan to join us on this evening to celebrate our ten wonderful years and to look forward to many more decades of nurturing, educating, and learning from the students.
The evening starts at 6:30pm and goes to 11pm. It’s at Roulette located in downtown Brooklyn, 509 Atlantic Ave.
Tickets are available here: BSIPTO.org
I would love to see everyone in the room. If financial support is needed, just ask me by emailing (ehavlik@bsi686.org) or calling (718-621-5730).
I am also signed up for the Brooklyn PTA Fun Run that morning! I hope to see some of you there.
Have a wonderful weekend!
PS I’m not wearing platform shoes to the Gala this year, but I will be dressed for the future. “Our Future” is the Gala’s theme, so come as yourself in the future or just as yourself now. We want you either way.
