Mock Test Next Week

On January 30 and 31 we will be administering a Mock ELA exam to students in our classes. Students will be given time in class to participate in a state exam simulation during class time on both days. Conditions will be similar to state exams.

We are doing this to provide students with an opportunity to practice participating in NYS testing before the first day of the actual ELA test on March 25th and 26th. We have found in the past that doing this type of practice over two days with third grade classes puts students at ease with their first state testing experience.

This exercise is purely meant for students to experience participating in an exam structure, and although we will be reviewing their answers, the information we gather is intended to support instruction. You will only receive further communication if we determine it is necessary to support an individual student.

If you have questions regarding the mock exam or NYS exams, please let us know. We do not anticipate scheduling a day to make up this simulation at this time.
